Hey!
I’m

The process of growing and raising a family is pretty dang amazing, it comes with ups and downs but with the right support, you’ll feel soo much better. No matter what role you invite me to be in your story, I will be honoured and grateful to be there.

Kaylee

As a mother of 4 living kiddos, and 3 babies I never got the chance to meet, I’ve experienced many different types of pregnancies and births. My hope is to be the guiding light along this journey for you, providing support, education and compassion so that you feel empowered heading into labour and ready to advocate for the birth you desire.

What I Value

  • Education around all aspects of pregnancy, labour and birth

  • Inclusivity

  • Confidence

  • Compassion

  • Advocacy

  • Connection

What I Avoid

  • Biases - your birth is your birth, i’m here to guide, educate and support you

  • Judgements

  • Keeping you in the dark about options and outcomes (we’re honest over here!)

When I was a first-time mom, I was overwhelmed. I was emotional with how drastically my body was changing, I didn’t know where to find quality information (google honestly doesn’t cut it), I had no clue what to expect, and quite frankly I was very under-prepared. Unfortunately, that led to a traumatic birth experience which took me a long time to heal from. But in that healing, I found my calling; it showed me who I wanted to be. I wanted to support other parents to be able to enjoy their pregnancy and acknowledge these important moments of creating a family. I wanted to help them know what to read, know what to expect and feel confident for this new journey. I wanted to be the person I needed, during this time in people’s lives.

As your birth worker, I can guarantee that I will be there to support you and your partner, I will walk beside you without bias.

TRUST ME, I GET IT

WHY WE THINK YOU’LL LOVE IT HERE

1

Education and informed consent are a massive focus of mine. Embarking on this journey to parenthood means questions, changes and soo many different unknowns. Having knowledge about the different outcomes and stages of pregnancy, labour and birth means having confidence in your choices so you can advocate for the birth you desire.

2

Birth trauma comes in many different forms and it’s difficult to find someone who understands the experience you had and the scars it’s left - both emotionally and physically. If you are currently pregnant, trying to conceive or have experienced birth trauma know that I have walked the path as well. In whatever way we work together, supporting you through these past events so you can heal and move forward is my number one priority. If you are looking for additional support, I also run a birth trauma support group. Feel free to reach out for extra information on this.

3

Many people wonder if having a birth worker is ‘worth it’ or if it’ll be helpful to them. Let me start by saying that each birth worker is different, and will provide support in different ways. My aim is to be a guide for both you and your partner, to support you emotionally, mentally and physically so that you feel empowered going into your labour and birth.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A Full spectrum birth worker assists birthing people and partners at any point during their reproductive stage of life. Including but not limited to, birth support (also known as doula support), bereavement, abortion, postpartum support and fertility!

  • With the intention of being accessible as possible, I do offer payment plans, and in some instances will work for an exchange of services.

  • This is dependent from person to person, Some people hire me at 6 weeks, and some at 38 weeks. Hiring early on during pregnancy give a larger window to create a connection, receive education/support, and offers more time for payment plans. But don’t worry if you’re further along, we work with what we’ve got!

  • I sure do! It just might take me a *little* while longer than normal to get my life sorted out beforehand. But I’ll join you as soon as I’m able.

  • This very rarely happens. But in the event that I can not attend for any reason, I set up a backup doula to attend in my place. Either you can pick this person out and I’ll check their availability, or I pick a doula I think will vibe well with you and your partner.

  • Heck yeah! If you want that epidural, we’re going to get you that epidural. It’s my part of my job (and arguably the most important part) as a birth worker to make sure that you are supported in every and any decision you want.
